The Cashew trees (Anacardium occidentale) belongs to the family Anacardiaceae. Cashew nuts are high in proteins, with some triggering allergic reactions including anaphylaxis in some people. Many of these proteins are heat resistant making them stable to different food production processes. For this reason, Cashew represents an important food allergen which should be monitored in the food production area.
AgraQuant® Cashew is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) that determines a quantitative level of Cashew residue in raw and process foods, rinse waters and environmental swabs. The kit is supplied with standards, antibody coated microwells, extraction buffer, wash buffer, conjugate, substrate and stop solution.
